RTP means return to player. It describes a game’s theoretical return as a percentage of stakes over a very large amount of play. It is not a promise about your balance after a session or the chance of winning the next spin.
A percentage of stakes, not your deposit
For an illustrative game with 96% RTP, the corresponding theoretical house edge is 4%: 100% minus 96%. Applied to AU$1,000 of total stakes, that model represents AU$960 returned and AU$40 retained on average over the long run. It does not predict the outcome of one person’s AU$1,000 of play.
Total stakes can exceed the initial deposit when returned funds are staked again. For example, ten AU$1 stakes total AU$10 regardless of how the account was funded. Keep deposit amount, turnover and remaining balance separate.

Check the version you can actually open
Open the game’s help or information screen and look for its return information. Record the exact title, provider, version or mode where shown, and the displayed RTP. A review of a similarly named game does not establish the configuration available in your account.
If the game information and a promotional page disagree, ask which figure applies. This guide does not rank games by RTP or claim that a particular configuration is available at the reviewed casinos.
RTP does not describe payout variability
Two games can have the same theoretical return and different distributions of prizes. Volatility describes variability in outcomes; it does not replace RTP. Neither measure identifies a guaranteed winning session.
For random games with independent outcomes, a losing sequence does not make the next spin due to win. An RTP percentage does not supply a countdown to a payout. Playing longer does not guarantee recovery of earlier losses.
RTP is not bonus contribution
A 96% RTP figure must not be entered as a 96% contribution rate unless the offer separately specifies that contribution. Game contribution controls how eligible stakes count towards an offer; RTP concerns the game’s mathematical return.
